It possesses high density, elevated aromatics content, and excellent solvency characteristics, making it suitable for use as a solvent base, heavy fuel blending component, or feedstock for carbon black and petrochemical processes. Light Coker Oil (LCO), in contrast, is a lighter distillate fraction, primarily composed of aromatic and paraffinic hydrocarbons, often used as cutter stock for diesel blending or as a hydrocracker feed to produce cleaner, higher-value middle distillates.
